A Kollabe alternative with free Jira write-back
Last updated: .
Kollabe is a polished, ad-free agile toolkit with planning poker, retros and standups. Its free plan is generous for occasional use, but it allows 4 planning poker meetings a month and 10 members per room, and Jira write-back is on paid plans. If you mainly need planning poker with Jira and want it free, Pointwalk is worth a look.

Monthly meeting caps vs per-session limits
Kollabe's free plan counts meetings: 4 planning poker meetings a month, up to 10 members per room, and 7 days of history. A team that refines every week and estimates again at sprint planning can run out before the month does.
Pointwalk doesn't count meetings. Each session takes up to 30 people and 100 tickets, and you can host as many sessions as you like.
The trade-off is history. Kollabe keeps 7 days of it on Free. Pointwalk deletes session data within 24 hours and emails the host a summary instead.
When Pointwalk is the better fit
- You estimate more than 4 times a month. Pointwalk has no monthly meeting limit.
- You want Jira Cloud write-back without paying. Pointwalk includes it on the free plan.
- You have more than 10 people. Pointwalk allows up to 30 per session.
- Your team likes something more playful: characters walk to their estimate and the reveal replays everyone's walk.
When Kollabe is the better fit
- You want no ads at all without paying. Kollabe is ad-free on every plan.
- You also want retros, standups or async estimation in the same tool.
- You need GitHub, Azure DevOps or Linear integrations, or SAML SSO.
- You want to keep session history. Pointwalk deletes session data within 24 hours and sends the host a summary email instead.
Using Pointwalk alongside Kollabe
- Keep Kollabe for retros and standups. Pointwalk only does planning poker, so it can replace just that part of your week.
- Get Jira write-back without upgrading. In Pointwalk it's part of the free plan: connect Jira Cloud during setup and pick a board, sprint or JQL query.
- Check your deck. Pointwalk has Fibonacci, modified Fibonacci and T-shirt sizes. Custom decks from Kollabe's paid plans don't carry over.
The Jira guide covers connecting Jira step by step, and the example session shows what a meeting looks like from start to summary. Comparing more than two tools? See our comparison of the best free planning poker tools, which also lists what Kollabe does well beyond planning poker.
Questions
Is Pointwalk's Jira integration really free?
Yes. Connecting Jira Cloud, loading issues by board, sprint or JQL, and writing story points back are all part of the free plan.
Does Pointwalk have retros like Kollabe?
No. Pointwalk is planning poker only. If you want retros and standups in the same tool, Kollabe is the better fit.
Do Pointwalk players need an account?
No. Players join with a six-letter code and a name. The host gives an email address so we can send the session summary.
